Chris A. Bagley

President and Chief Credit Officer

Chris A. Bagley serves as President and Chief Credit Officer of Cadence Bank, bringing more than 38 years of banking experience to the role. He has been with Cadence and its predecessor institutions since 2014, playing a key leadership role in credit strategy and enterprise risk management.

Prior to joining Cadence’s predecessor, BancorpSouth, Bagley served as Chief Credit Officer and was named executive officer at Prosperity Bancshares, Inc., where he was a member of the bank’s seven-person executive committee responsible for directing and leading all operational functions.

Throughout his career, Bagley has held numerous leadership and governance roles, including regional loan concurrence officer, voting member of the senior loan committee, member of both the operations and BSA risk committees and liaison for fair lending compliance. He has also served on the board of directors for a publicly traded financial holding company. 

Bagley earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Stephen F. Austin State University and an MBA from the University of Houston. He is a former advisory board member of the University of Houston banking certificate program through the Bauer College of Business.
